About the director
Belgian senior director partners Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne began filmmaking in the 1970s. In 2000, they won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival with the film Rosetta, and again in 2005 with The Child. This year, Young Ahmed won them Best Director at Cannes. The main characters in their works are mostly humble figures at the bottom of society. In recent years, the work The Unknown Girl has also received many good reviews.
